Punjab Police Special Branch Recruitment 2026: Official Details

The Punjab Police Special Branch has announced new vacancies for various technical, surveillance, and canine-handling positions. These positions are being filled based on a contract policy, and candidates from all districts of Punjab are eligible to apply.

Job Positions and Requirements

  1. Assistant Supervisor (Explosive Detection Section – EDS) (BS-09):
  • Qualification: Higher Secondary School Certificate (FSc) or Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in second division.
  • Experience: Certification in a Bomb Disposal Course from a recognized institution with at least two years of experience in the related field.
  • Age Limit: 21 to 40 years.
  1. Operator (Explosive Detection Section – EDS) (BS-05):
  • Qualification: Secondary School Certificate (Matric) in second division.
  • Experience: A technical certificate (at least six months duration) in electrical, electronics, mechanical, chemical, civil, information technology, or radio and TV mechanic.
  • Age Limit: 18 to 40 years.
  1. Senior Operator (Surveillance Section) (BS-07):
  • Qualification: Secondary School Certificate (Matric) in second division.
  • Experience: Certification in an intelligence course with at least five years of experience in the relevant field, along with knowledge of IT, Computer Science, or Telecommunication.
  • Age Limit: 21 to 40 years.
  1. Operator (Surveillance Section) (BS-05):
  • Qualification: Secondary School Certificate (Matric) in second division.
  • Experience: Certification in an intelligence course with at least three years of experience in the relevant field, along with knowledge of IT, Computer Science, or Telecommunication.
  • Age Limit: 18 to 40 years.
  1. Senior Canine Handler (Canine Section) (BS-07):
  • Qualification: Middle pass.
  • Experience: Certification in a basic dog handling course with at least five years of experience in canine handling.
  • Age Limit: 21 to 40 years.
  1. Canine Handler (Canine Section) (BS-05):
  • Qualification: Primary pass.
  • Experience: Certification in a basic dog handling course with at least two years of experience in canine handling.
  • Age Limit: 18 to 40 years.

How to Apply

  • Application forms can be downloaded from the official Punjab Police website at www.punjabpolice.gov.pk.
  • Applicants must submit the form along with verified copies of educational certificates, domicile, CNIC, three recent passport-sized photographs, and a 500 PKR fee.
  • Applications must be submitted to the relevant SSP office within 15 days of the advertisement’s publication.

Test Pattern and Syllabus

For the EDS and Surveillance Section positions:

  • Paper Composition: General Knowledge, Pak Studies, Islamiyat/Ethics, and Urdu (30 marks, MCQs).
  • English: 25 marks (Subjective).
  • Technical: 45 marks (Subjective/MCQ).
  • Note: Candidates must qualify in both portions with at least 40% marks to pass.

For the Canine Handler positions:

  • Canine Handling MCQs: 50 marks.
  • Practical (Training, Handling, Vaccination, Care): 50 marks.
  • Note: Candidates must qualify in both portions with at least 40% marks to pass.

Important Information

  • The written examination will be held at the Police School of Intelligence (PSIA) in Lahore.
  • Candidates who pass the written test will be called for interviews and psychological tests.
  • Retired armed forces personnel are eligible for a 10-year age relaxation.
  • All appointments are based on merit and the contract policy.
  • Selected candidates can be posted anywhere in Punjab.
  • Providing fake documents or misleading information will result in disqualification at any stage of the process.
